Cool wet in the mountains – lakes in the ski region

In the winter our lakes are the main arteries for unlimited skiing pleasure, enabling snow to be manufactured, while in summer they offer superb excursions for the whole family.
Hikes to the lake
Enjoy a time which is carefree and recoup your strength from the limitless freedom far above the roofs of the holiday region of Kitzbühel-Kirchberg- Passthurn/Resterhöhe-Mittersill/Hollersbach.
Hiking routes
The four season path takes you from the mountain station for the Hahnenkammbahn to Ehrenbachhöhe storage lake. You then go back via the panorama path, with a superb view of the Wilden Kaiser.
Walking time: approx. 1 hr
Lake hike to the Pengelstein:
This route takes you first of all to Ehrenbachhöhesee and from there via Hochbrunn to Pengelsteinsee. There, a breathtaking 360° view awaits, before you continue on your hike either to the Schwarzkogel (descent to Aschau), or via Gasthof Schroll to the ‘Skirast’.
Walking time: approx. 3 - 4 hrs.
Streif race route:
Here a demanding route lies before you, if you have chosen the route over the Mausefalle and Steilhang. Seidlalmsee after the escarpment offers a welcome breather - just before you go over the edge of the local mountain in the “finish” above the valley station for the Hahnenkammbahn – the best time!
Walking time: approx. 1.5 hrs.
Resterhöhe
Resterhöhesee can be reached via the Panoramabahn in the Kitzbühel Alps without a problem. From the mountain station a well prepared path takes you to the excellent lake which is integrated into the landscape.
Walking time: approx. 20 min.
