At the International Skiareatest award presentation, the Bergbahn Kitzbühel was the overall winner.  In a total of 9 categories, the Kitzbühel cable-car company made a lasting impression on the international testers and won, for the winter season 2011/12, the title "THE MOST UP-AND-COMING COMPANY OF THE YEAR". 

For more than 15 years, the Skiareatest Team has been travelling around the European Alps, keeping an eye on tourist destinations. Over 200 experienced members collect anonymous impressions from people from different walks of life and nationalities, including executives, journalists, doctors, economists and competent hobby-skiers, in participating ski resorts in Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Slowenian and France.

The International Skiareatest is a "barometer" where safety, quality, guest service and

innovative ideas in the mountain-railway economy of the Alps is concerned. During the Season 2010/11, 35 ski resorts in Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Slowenian and France took part in this test.  For the first time the Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel participated too and was rewarded with prizes and honours.
