With the snowcat on the Bichlalm
Whether guided or unguided, the off-piste wonderland is a powder dream come true
Kitzbühel in general, with its simply endless Alpine pastures, offers pretty well unlimited off-piste fun in the greater ski area's backcountry.
The Bichlalm in particular has for many years been recognised by those in the know way beyond the Tyrolean borders as backcountry heaven. This year, for the first time, in the period from 21 December 2014 to 29 February 2015, Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel is making available its ultra-modern snow groomer with a piggyback cabin and seating for 25 people. It will be operating - with this rapid, and also spectacular, form of transport up the Stuckkogel - a scheduled service for the Bichlalm.
SHORTFACTS & TICKETING "Snowcat"
- From the Bichlalm chairlift top station
- Regular service from 09.00, 10.00, 11.00, 12.00 und 13.00

Once you've arrived at the mountain top full of energy and drive, what will open up in front of you is ski-touring and backcountry terrain modelled on Canadian and American off-piste areas. Thanks to an ultra-modern snow groomer, we can offer this extraordinary "step-up" every day. Leaving on the hour at 9.00, 10.00 and 11.00 clock, it will take you on an incredible freeride adventure.
A veritable treat, which at only 20 euros, promises a much more intensive sporting experience and encounter with nature than the price suggests. And booking is easy and convenient.
Freeriders can book their journey directly via a ski school (Rote Teufel, Element 3, Skischule Reith, Ski-Alpin, Snowsports and Alpin Experts)
or guarantee themselves one of the coveted seats with a quick phone call to Bergbahn Kitzbühel in the Hornbahn cable car office on 05356/1411. The last booking option is intended for those making last-minute plans. With a little luck you might be able to secure one of the last free places if you make it to Oberaigen car park, the meeting place for ski tourers, but that's on a first come - first served basis.
You buy your ticket from the driver.

Alpine experience is essential!

The ski routes are not prepared or checked – however they are safe from avalanches. The ski routes are narrow and only extend approx. 5 m to the left and right of the centre markings. The routes are only safe from avalanches in this specific area. If you depart from this specific ski route area, you will enter the off-piste terrain. This area is associated with various Alpine hazards and dangers. Enter the off-piste area at your own risk. Please be aware of Alpine hazards
