The new QPark (Quality Snowpark) on the Kitzbüheler Horn is located directly beneath the Alpenhauslift. Snowboarders and freeskiers can get to the park area in just a few sweeps, straight from the gondola exit of the Kitzbühel Hornbahn.

The set-up in Winter 07/08 consists of a double kickerline with various sized tables, a thoroughbred Big Air in the event area under the Hornköpfel lift and various "boxes" and "rails" (obstacles to glide over).

The park caused a major coo even in its first season. "QParks" comes from "Quality Snowparks" - and absolute (daily) quality is also on the agenda! Bernd Mandlberger, one of the best park designers in the Alps has been assigned the task of planning, construction and with ensuring the quality of QPark. The basics of the park have been constructed using a piste device and milling machines, the intricate work has been completed using shovels by the really motivated “Shape Crew”, under the guidance of Christian Scheidl & Lisi Obermoser. The team at QParks have built, looked after and marketed 11 snow parks in Austria and Switzerland in total in the 07/08 winter season, and after the success of the first season on the Horn, they are really motivated again for this year!

In the first instance it was Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel who made the project possible, Skischule Rote Teufel, Skiclub Kitzbühel and the Tourist Association helped out too – thank-you!

From an events point of view, a high point in the Snowpark on the Kitzbüheler Horn was the ‘Sick Trick Tour’ stop, which attracted several hundred enthusiastic spectators to the Horn. And as well as the freestyle range on offer, the powder snow on the Kitzbüheler Horn is also enticing. The slopes and cliffs around the Raintallift to the rear of the Kitzbüheler Horn get every freerider’s heart beating audibly faster!
