Tour tips for mountain bikers
Mountain bikes are transported on the following cable cars:
Hahnenkammbahn, Kitzbüheler Hornbahn I und II, Fleckalmbahn, Panoramabahn Kitzbüheler Alpen
A ROUND mixture: discover holiday pleasure and adventures on the bike, rural villages and the hospitality of the Tirol people! The Wilder Kaiser – Kalkstein – Kitzbüheler Horn - Hohe Salve region is probably one of the beautiful and most inviting recuperative areas in the Tirol, thanks to its broad, sunny valley. Over 800 km of cycle touring and mountain biking routes invite you for a bit of sporting engagement from the start of May until the end of October. Every cyclist will find routes to suit their needs. There are even plenty of cycle routes for those cyclists who are not so fit. We have two special tour tips for you. Otherwise please enquire at the local Tourist Offices for suitable cycle map material for this region. All routes and numbers are shown on the mountain bike and cycle map.

BikeSafari – a genuine challenge The routes proceed from Kitzbühel and Kirchberg via Jochberg to Pass-Thurn to Resterhöhe. Continuing then via Stangenjoch to Aschau and back to the starting point. A good level of fitness is a pre-requisite in order to really be able to enjoy the superb view to the Hohen Tauern, the Kitzbühel Alps and the Wilder Kaiser.

Tour from Kitzbüheler Horn into Raintal – one of the loveliest routes The first stage – Alpenhaus at 1664m - either ride to the top, or relax and take the Hornbahn and prepare yourself in comfort for everything else. From Alpenhaus you really have to hit the pedals to conquer the 100 metres altitude up to Hornköpfl. After this effort there is a 15 km downhill stretch through Raintal. Return journey via St. Johann and Oberndorf. |
